From a local entrepreneur to an international industry leader.
1911
In 1911, Wiktor Mattson lays the foundation for what is now PMC Cylinders by patenting a drill chuck. Initially known as Waggeryd Chuckfabrik, the company operates from 1911 to 1919. After a brief pause, operations resume in 1928.
1938
Waggeryds Chuckfabrik relocates to new facilities and expands production to include vises, machine tools, and engraving machines for the glass industry. In 1941, the company changes its name to AB Vaggeryds Mekaniska Verkstad.
1950
As the timber industry rationalises in the late 1940s, hydraulic forklifts with lift masts are introduced. Vaggeryds Mekaniska Verkstad begins manufacturing cylinders for Lidhults Mekansiska Verkstad – now known as Kalmar.
1962
Production is expanded to include backhoe attachments for tractors, and a collaboration with BM in Eskilstuna begins. Tractors are transported by train for assembly with backhoe attachments and front loaders in our current facilities.
1983
To support a stronger emphasis on manufacturing hydraulic cylinders and expanding exports, Vaggeryds Mekaniska Verkstad rebrands as Vaggeryds Hydraulik AB. The market expands to include Norway and Germany.
1996
Vaggeryds Hydraulik receives an honorary award from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries as the best supplier in Europe, underscoring the company’s commitment to quality and strengthening the position on the European market.
2009
Vaggeryds Hydraulik AB is incorporated into PMC Group, and together with CA-Verken AB in Sävsjö, the new company PMC Cylinders is established. The merger brings greater strength and strategically improves our market position.
2018
In 2016, Dacke Hydraulik acquires PMC Cylinders. By 2018, the group rebrands as Dacke Industri and establishes PMC Cylinders and Arcos Hydraulik. PMC Cylinders shifts its focus to OEM customers in the mobile segment.
