Design

At PMC Cylinders, our project engineers are with you every step of the way from inquiry to finished product. We design all cylinders for our mobile OEM customers, either independently or in close collaboration with you as the customer, ensuring that all specifications and requirements are met. Our engineers also utilise advanced calculation tools and design software to create optimised hydraulic cylinders that meet your needs and requirements.

Turning

Turning plays a key part in our manufacturing process, involving the machining of tubes and rods to prepare them for welding and other processing steps. Our machinery is tailored to the specific sizes of cylinders and is equipped with driven tools for intricate operations such as threading, ensuring precise dimensions, surface finishes, and optimal performance.

03

Milling

Milling is crucial in our production process. Using advanced multi-operation machines, we achieve precise machining of components such as drilling and planing. Our advanced milling techniques for finishing round components provide several advantages over traditional turning, enhancing production safety and enabling pendulum milling to minimise downtime.

Quality

Quality is paramount throughout our production process. We maintain high standards with thorough controls, including incoming inspection, internal sampling, diagnostics, and repairs. Upon receipt, materials and components undergo meticulous inspection, measurement, and testing. During production, regular sampling ensures consistent quality and for repairs we diagnose issues and disassemble as needed to enhance performance. We also offer repair services to maximize the lifetime of your cylinders. This commitment assures superior quality.

Cleaning

Cleaning is vital for maintaining the cleanliness and quality of our components, pipes, and rods. We utilise custom-designed washing equipment capable of handling long and large hydraulic cylinders. Cleanliness significantly impacts hydraulic system performance and lifespan, prompting us to consider the cleaning process early in the design phase. Our equipment effectively eliminates contaminants and particles that might affect system operation. By prioritising cleaning as a core process in our production, we ensure that all parts meet strict cleanliness standards, ensuring quality and reliability.

Welding

At PMC Cylinders, we offer advanced manual welding, circular welding, and robotic welding for components up to 10 meters in size. We weld end caps, lugs, collars, connections, flanges, brackets, and various types of customised components. Our welding processes are ISO 3834 certified, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards. Additionally, we utilise inductive heat treatment to minimise deformation. The combination of advanced technology and skilled welders enables us to deliver robust and reliable hydraulic cylinders for all types of mobile applications.

07

Assembling

We employ semi-automated assembly for efficient and stable processes. The workstations are tailored for various sizes of hydraulic cylinders, and we use specially designed tools for precise and rapid assembly according to specifications. Heating and cooling are used to expand and shrink components during assembly. All in all we can adapt to different customer needs, regardless of the type or size of cylinder.

Testing

PMC Cylinders tests all products to meet the highest requirements for functionality, strength, and cleanliness. We conduct functional testing and leak testing using oil or air to ensure reliable operation and identify any leaks. Cleanliness is measured through optical measurement to reduce the risk of contaminants that could impact system performance and longevity. We also perform comprehensive validation tests, including design validation to verify durability under expected loads and conditions. Custom fatigue tests and cycle tests allow us to simulate various operating conditions effectively.
